Here's a short clip from an upcoming Pixar short film, The Blue Umbrella. As you can see, this short has a very different aesthetic than anything we've done before, and I'm very excited to see it. I haven't seen the entire short completed, but the few bits of final renderings I've seen have been stunning. Enjoy:
This looks great, can't wait to see more. Does this short use any live-action footage or is this all done with CGI?
ReplyDeleteAll CGI.
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing. Most definitely not the typical Pixar work, yet very endearing.
ReplyDeleteThat was my first tough.. you guys are getting to a level where its gonna be hard to tell between live action and CG I cant wait to see it... Going out of the confort zone and trying new things with this kind of shorts.. Well done Pixar... Definitely count this as one of the reasons I want to be an animator
ReplyDeleteVictor. My 10 year old son wants to be an animator. He has been drawing seriously for 3 years. He also has produced three short films. He is beyond Y-camp claymation camp, age appropriate art camp and the Apple Store kids camps. Where can he learn the next level? His first project he would like to do is to animate the logo for his production company. I HAVE NO IDEA where to start. Any information would be much appreciated. CoCo Smith
ReplyDeleteCoco.. I added you on Google plus I might be able to help with your son :)
ReplyDeleteHi Coco, contact me via email so I can respond to you outside this thread (use link on the right).
ReplyDeleteThe story of this blue umbrella is heart warming. I love the animation and even though it is just simple.
