Pocoyo! I've only seen one episode (on YouTube, of course) but it's really cool. Super simple characters and surprisingly good animation. Not something you expect to see in a kids' show. The duck character absolutely rules! Unfortunately it's only showing in UK, Canada and Japan right now. I found out about it from Angus Maclane who saw it at Annecy. Hopefully they'll start playing them in the US soon, or at least make them available on NTSC DVD. Here's a sample episode:
Hi Victor!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your treasures ;) Awesome! The Animation reminds me a little bit on game-animation. Really cool!
Well,we in germany will wait for a long time before it comes on tv :(...
It´s really cool. The style is also great.
ReplyDeleteHey Haki, you too here? I think it will unfortunately never come to germany.
A reason to cry :(
I absolutely love this show! I see it here (in Canada) on TV quite a bit, so sometimes I watch it. It's really well done and cute! ^_^
ReplyDeleteCool!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool looking show! Very appealing characters and as you said pretty well animated too. I really dig the elephant design and the way he's animated.

Looks sweet...can't wait to check it out...
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing. I love seeing new takes on things:). I agree, the duck is histerical. I'd seen stills of this before, thanks for providing a link to some animation.
ReplyDeleteHope it makes it to the States.

ReplyDeleteI did a search on ebay, and here is what I found....
ReplyDeleteHave at it everyone!!
Cheers, N
Unfortunately this DVD is region encoded for Europe and is therefore PAL format as well. So unless you've got a special DVD player and TV you probably can't watch it on an American system. Probably would work on a computer, but I don't want my 2-year daughter messin' with my Mac!
ReplyDeleteIn response to Victor, my bad on the DVD...I unfortunately didn't scan the ebay item description long enough...DOH! Yeah, 2 yr olds and Macs really don't mix well ;)
ReplyDelete-N
I absolutely love the way they walk and run (especially the duck)!
ReplyDelete^____^
if this goes on dvd i am a buyer!!
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes that's awesome! Pocoyo sort of reminds of Poko a stop motion production that was done in Canada. Does Angus know which country the animation was done or how they broke up the production? I assume design was done in Japan and voice over was done in the UK. Fun stuff, I hope they do more of this kind of work!
ReplyDeletehello everybody and especially to you, victor. I'd like to do an explanation.
ReplyDeleteThe general production of Pocoyo is done in Madrid (Spain),except for
scripts(US)and voices (UK).
thanks everybody.
p.d.: you can find more information about the serie in www.pocoyo.com
So when do we get to see it in the US?
ReplyDeleteI don't know anything about that in this moment,VĂctor. I imagine that it will be soon in the States.
ReplyDeleteWe are going to see at last this september here in Spain, one year after we finished the first season.
But I can tell you that the second season is crazier than the first one.
I know I am replying to an old post but as a Belgian girl, I can tell you that my son loves that animation. Plenty app for iPad.
