Irma's Car

Here's a nifty bit of animation from Crew 972, a studio led by my old buddy and former Pixarian Alex Orrelle. Nice mix of 2D and 3D. Enjoy!

  3. I love the way the 3D subtly augments the 2D. Beautifully done.

  4. It's the little things,(no pun intended), that can really be hilarious! Love the "hybrid" look,(again no pun intended), of the piece. Cheers, Bob

  6. Thanks, everyone, for your nice comments, and of course, thank you, Victor for posting!
The animation is based on an illustration by Jean-Philippe Vine, who directed Irma's car. See more of JP's awesome art here:

  8. I'm not a fan of schematic animations. I prefer the animation technology developed by the Japanese. They have managed to imitate reality very well in their animations. Irma's car is ok, but not my type.
